We are a group of passionate volunteers committed to making a positive impact in our community. Our mission is to empower individuals and create a better future for generations to come.
We organize community events, fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities that support our mission. Our work focuses on education, health, and environmental sustainability.
Thanks to our dedicated volunteers and supportive community, we have been able to make a significant impact in the lives of many. From planting trees to providing basic necessities to those in need, we are proud of our achievements.
District Convention (DCON) is an annual event to celebrate all the achievements of the previous term, elect the new District Executive Board, attend a variety of educational workshops, meet new Key Clubbers from all over the state, and finally welcome in the new term together!
DCON is a weekend packed full of unforgettable experience, including:
~Learning more about Key Club through educational workshops hosted by fellow members
~Recognizing and celebrating the hard work and dedication of members, clubs, officers, advisors
~Watching or performing in the Kansas District talent show
~Enjoying a great dinner at the Governor’s Ball followed by a dance
~Spending time with new friends from all over the state
~Enjoying great entertainment from our keynote speaker
~Experiencing the bittersweet ending of your term as an officer or board member and then welcome in the new board
~If you are a delegate (2 selected from each school), you will vote on the new District Executive Board
~2025 we will be in Great Bend in March 6-8
~2026 you will find us in Manhattan for March 5-7
~2027 look out Pittsburg because Key Club is taking over for a weekend
*locations and dates are subject to change but we will update as changes happen
We’ve had as many as eight from the same school. Every school is entitled to two delegates. Two same-gender students from the same school can room together. Even so, there are schools that send just one member.
Not a problem! By Friday afternoon everyone will have been introduced and you’ll know your roommates. Everyone is welcome and treated as a valued member of the group!
The emphasis is on variety. Every attempt is made to strike a balance between indoor and outdoor activities, blending cultural and educational choices with entertainment and physical activities. Simply put, if it isn’t going to be fun and rewarding, we probably won’t do it.
Your registration fee which will vary slightly year to year based on things such as the location, speakers, and price of included meals.
There will be meals provided and a couple of meals that you will be responsible for but you will know this in advance.
We are working towards having a Key Club store and the items along with price will be posted prior to DCON.
NEW in 2025 the Key Club advisors will be booking their Key Clubbers rooms to ensure that each student‘s needs are met and their privacy is kept in tact. In addition, to the individual needs schools are tax exempt which is a benefit to your budget.
Your Key Club and local Kiwanis Club will typically pay one-third of the total cost each, like with district convention. That leaves the final third for members to pay. Even though that may still seem overwhelming, there are other methods members can use to cover the leftover cost.
Think about setting up a Kiwanis Gives Online account. On your fundraising page, mention what you are fundraising for and why others should donate. Promote the page to relatives and friends, along with Kiwanians.
One very effective method that has worked for ICON fundraising in the past is acquiring sponsorships. Local businesses often sponsor a portion of the cost for school trips, including Key Club's conventions. There are certain steps you can follow to increase your chances of gaining support from local businesses. The official sponsorship toolkit provided by Key Club International can be found below.
