Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership.
I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the Objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school and community; to serve my nation and world; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.
Kiwanis is an international organization operated by adult service leaders. Different organizations are branched under Kiwanis, making a family dedicated to "serving the children of the world." The Kiwanis Family, commonly known as the K-Family, works together to improve the world one community at a time through monumental impact on children's lives across the world.
Outside of Kiwanis, the K-Family includes Circle K (college), Key Club (high school), along with Builders Club (middle school) and K-Kids (elementary) for younger service leaders. Aktion Club is the final branch, specifically for adults with disabilities.
You may have heard the term MEP thrown around from time to time in the world of Key Club, especially regarding types of service projects. MEP stands for Major Emphasis Program and was designed by Key Club with the mission "Children: Their Future, Our Focus." To achieve the goal of MEP, you may consider collaborating with one of our
preferred charities, but as long as you are completing projects designed to help children, you fall under the category of MEP - it's that simple! So now that you know the gist of MEP, we encourage you to get out there and help the children of your community!

Today, March of Dimes has progressed to solve relevant medical issues that harm mothers and their newborns, notably prematurity. By educating medical professionals and supporting research related to prematurity and birth defects, including research for folic acid and screening for newborns, March of Dimes is able to give newborns and mothers “the best possible start.”
United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is an organization dedicated to protecting the lives and rights of children in almost 200 under- served countries and territories. UNICEF focuses on numerous areas for children, including education, gender rights, children survival in emergencies, and health. Kiwanis International and UNICEF are currently partnered in raising $110 million to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT)
Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) is a chain of 170 pediatric hospitals in North America. Children across the U.S. visit CMN hospitals for major medical issues (such as diabetes), surgeries, and cancer treatments. Funding stays as local as possible, assisting with medical research, equipment, and services for patients.
The U.S. Army is not partnered with Key Club in hopes of recruiting new members, but rather because we share similar values. The U.S. Army and Key Club are both organizations that are dedicated to service and building leadership skills. With programs like the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) the Employment Readiness Program (ERP), and March2Success, the U.S. Army sets students for success.
Thirst Project is the largest global water organization that campaigns to combat thirst and contaminated water. The biggest directives for Thirst Project are raising awareness and building wells in developing communities to provide clean and safe water. Since Thirst Project is 100% covered by a Board of Governors, all public donations go directly towards their cause!
With our Nickelodeon partnership, Key Club members can get involved with two of their major projects: Worldwide Day of Play and the Get Dirty campaign. Worldwide Day of Play encourages physical activity in young children, while the Get Dirty campaign promotes keeping our planet clean. Nickelodeon also presents the Halo Movement, where dedicated Key Clubbers can apply for service project grants.
The main goal of Up with People is to increase the understanding of different cultures. Through service and music, Up with People works with their focus communities to help make an impact and defeat bigotry and discrimination of any kind. With the hope to create positivity, Up with People fosters cultural education and creates a kinder world than yesterday.
Landscape Structures paired with the Kiwanis Family to improve the quality of play for young children all around. LSI offers high-production equipment and services to help innovate playgrounds around the world. Respecting the environment is a priority while increasing the quality of play.
Project Happiness encourages young individuals to focus on their inner happiness. Large topics with Project Happiness are to inspire people to improve their happiness and decrease bullying in their communities. Resources based on mindfulness, psychology, and happiness exercises can be found in the Key Club Guide to Project Happiness.
With Squads Abroad, Key Clubbers have the chance to travel abroad and volunteer in a new community. Utilizing Squads Abroad increases cultural education and offers a perfect and cheaper opportunity to volunteer in a high-need community. As of now, Squad Abroad is focused on areas of health and educational improvement.
Kiwanis Gives Online is an online fundraising platform that helps Key Clubbers with their service projects and fundraisers. Similar to GoFundMe, Kiwanis Gives Online allows members to request and raise money from friends, family, or Kiwanians. Using Kiwanis Gives Online entails making a page that has the information on the purpose of the fundraiser, goals, and details on donations.
K Corps is a Kiwanis program that provides a student youth exchange to Key Clubbers. Participating in K Corps gives students the chance to learn about a new culture and serve in a new community. Currently, K Corps is focused on Japanese communities, but also offers scholarship opportunities.
